Hey Guys!

I've heard alot of good things about the D-tar mama bear but cant seem to find it on any of the normal online places in Europe i check out.
Is there any other acoustic processor that does the same/sounds as 'good'/mabye does more/ as the mama bear that you know of/have experience with???

thanks alot!!

Re: Acoustic Guitar processors..

No...there is nothing that is as amazing as the Mama Bear! If you'd like one, I'll order one for you. I'm getting a couple...one for me and one for stock.

The Mama Bear was the most impressive gizmo I played through at NAMM this year!

Makes any guitar with a piezo crystal bridge pickup sound like a vintage Martin D-28, Martin OM, National Tricone Resonator, etc. Really impressive!

Re: Acoustic Guitar processors..

Lew, how would the Mama Bear work with an electric that's using piezo elements in a metal tune-o-matic style bridge?

Would it make it sound like a good acoustic?

Evan had a run of the mill Strat with Fishman piezo saddles and it sounded spectacular through the Mama Bear when we tried it at the Duncan Booth at NAMM. Sounded just like a great Martin D-28...totally acoustic. Lew

Re: Acoustic Guitar processors..

Damn, I read so many good things about those...

One more question Lew: What would be the retail on one of those?

Thanks

Retail is $499 according to the price list I just recieved from Billy Gill at Duncan Pickups. Lew

Re: Acoustic Guitar processors..

oh dear! 499...tho that doesn't sound too much at all considering what it is supposed to do to your acoustic sound!

According to the 1 harmony central Review "as the instructions say, it can't make a bad-sounding guitar sound good... but it CAN make a average guitar sound like a gem!"

Lew: It's a bit too much for me at the moment as all my income is going towards more PA equipment and other Live sound related peripherals for the band, but thanks alot anyways

But looks like it will be on my to buy list in the future!!

Re: Acoustic Guitar processors..

I'm going to be using one onstage with my Super Strat. I'll be going with the Fishman saddles and Duncan Classic Stack Plus pickups and a JB in the bridge position. Talk about a Super Strat! Lew

Re: Acoustic Guitar processors..

I'm thinking I need one for my Shadow/Fishman equipped Alleykat.

What kind of amplification will you run it through, Lew?

Do you think it would do well through a SWR Strawberry Blonde?
