Acoustic Humidifier...

I'm planning on getting a new acoustic in the next couple of weeks and am wondering if I should get a humidifier, specifically This One . I already have a Freedom case and this guitar will be used at home and at friends house's around town. I'm hoping to get an all solid wood guitar, so is the humidifier worth it?

Its not a bad idea at all and thats the humid. system I use with my Taylor. Nice unit.

good idea, but you don't want too much humidity. i bought a digital thermometer which tells me the humidity of my room too, when the humidity gets lower then 30 or 40 you want to be using the humidifier, any higher though and thats too much humidity. a friend of mine was using his guitar humidifier, and a room humidifier at one point, he told me his guitar seemed kind of damp when he picked it up to play! so make sure to be careful. if you live in canada though, a humidifer is important for our cold winters.

+1 as above, humidifier is a must with an all wood guitar, unless the humidity were you are is within the manufacturers specs. If your acoustic dries up to much the damage may be costly. I would get one.

Richie Blackmore uses a potato for his Taylor. Should work fine unless you're going overseas or into another country. Then you'll be stopped at the border.

Taylor recommends the Grover green tube-sponge thingy...
This is what I use... works very well.
I also bought an hygrometer and verify the humidity level in the case (with the guitar in it) every 2 or 3 days. You can get a sh*tload of information regarding humidification and humidity level on the taylor site... there are tons of really helpful and interesting PDF documents you can dowload...

They recommend to keep your acoustic within 42 and 52% humidity (ideal being 47%) and that's where I keep mine. Didn't have any problems so far but summer is coming...

I guess a good humidifier is in order, whatever you get is personnal preference I guess, as long as you use it regularily and check your humidity level on a regular basis you should be fine...
