I have purchased an active boost for my Bc Rich Mockingbird, it's a Guitar Fuel Nitro Booster & i already have one in wired in permanently in my Ibanez but this time i wanted to have the choice to switch it in or out.

The wiring for permanently wired in is straight forward.

I asked them to send me a diagram of how to wire it with their pre wired on/off switch & they sent me this.

but it doesn't show how to wire it with vols & switches etc, do i just wire the guitar as normal & wire the switch as shown?

any help would be appreciated.

Re: Active/Passive help please??

Yes. Wire everything as shown in the first diagram. Then remove the wire from the tip of the jack and connect it to one side of the SPDT switch. Wire the center of the SPDT back to the tip of the jack. Then connect the remaining contact on the SPDT to the input on the SG-3D.

As shown, the switch connects either the input (unboosted signal) or the output (boosted) from the SG-3D to the output jack, thereby allowing you to select either signal.

Note that this circuit will NOT disconnect the battery when you are in passive mode. For that, you could use a DPDT switch and wire the battery through the other side of the switch. (I've not done this mod myself, but that's how I would read these schematics.)

Happy modding!

Re: Active/Passive help please??

Let me just make sure i understand, so i will have two wires going to the input of the SD-3G, the wire from the pickup selector & the wire from the on/off switch?

Yes. The switch is just bypassing the booster to connect the pickup signal straight out to the guitar's output jack.
