AD120VTH phased out?

Re: AD120VTH phased out?

If it sounds good it sounds good. No matter how they go about getting the good tones, the output is all that matters. I don't think the differences are all that huge overall. It's very slight to be honest. If the blue heads weren't going for so startlingly cheap right now, I'd be all over the chrome series amps myself.

Yeah, with what the Blue's have, if I was in the market for one now, I'd be all over it. Sadly, they were still pretty expensive when I got my AD50. It has no problem shaking the walls either. :D

Re: AD120VTH phased out?

ErikH - Ever thought about using a stereo chorus or delay pedal to split the signal and bi-amping with another AD50? Just wondering if that devilish scheme ever hit you too? That's one of the reasons I got the spare AD-120VTH. I mean think about it. You have all those different models at your disposal, so why not use one amp on the Dumble OD or Vox TB30 models and the other side with the hot rodded marshall models and patch in a tad of stereo chorus while you're at it? Makes my old mouth water just thinking about the thick juicy wall of tone kicking out my cabs and I haven't even got the second amp yet... ;)

I have thought about that, Scott. But for me, that's too much switching. If I was to truly split to two amps, then they would be clean amps and I would run my OD from pedals to keep the switching down. Sure, there'd be lots of tonal possibilities there but I keep my setup really simple. If I got another AD50, it would be strictly for backup.
