Adding two push/pulls

Grabbed a nice Squier Double Fat Strat yesterday with two humbuckers but no splitting.

I'd like to keep everything looking the same and keep the vol/tone/tone... But I'd like to make the tone knobs into push/pulls to split up the humbuckers into singles.

Found this diagram which is basically how it is now... Anyone know of a diag where the two tones are push/pulls?

Re: Adding two push/pulls

Is that just a 3 way switch?
My favorite on a Strat with 2 humbuckers is an S1 switch that splits both pickups.

Re: Adding two push/pulls

A few hours after posting this I came across a wiring diagram on the Fender site... looks like the S1 switch with a 5-way... though again, still not taken this one apart yet to see if the pickups can be split. Specs on this guitar don't give much detail as to the pickups in it. I saw someone say AlnicoII magnets, but not much else.

But if can be split and swapping to a 5-way, it should look almost stock and give me 10 sound options vs the current 3.

Not bad... electronics work but being Squier, it can't hurt to upgrade those dime-sized pots anyways. I also have a nice satin chrome set of locking tuners with the 2-pins but, I think I read somewhere that the pin spacing is different between USA and Squier guitars. Pet peeve of mine. I can understand using cheaper materials, but c'mon... use the same measurements and such.

Poop... didn't wanna take it apart yet but loosened the strings and popped the pickguard up enough to take a peek under the hood... non-split humbuckers.

So, I guess either

1 - Upgrade the 3-way and pots with CTS/Bourns and Oak Grigsby...
2 - Upgrade pots, switch, AND new pickups? well... used/new pickups. Too cheap to buy pickups at full price. :D

Re: Adding two push/pulls

Hmm... maybe... if a diagram for it. :D

I can wire/solder WITH a diagram otherwise I have zero idea what I'm doing for this stuff. :D

Sadly stuck waiting for a couple of metric drill bits... guitar working on now I got a new bridge for and right size but studs are bigger and my bits are either too big or small. Sigh.... anyways, it has a pair of twin rail single coil size pickups and a g-rail they called it, which is another twin rail with a single coil. 5-way switch, and a mini toggle to choose sing/both/twin on the bridge pickup plus a push/pull for the series/parallel. Gonna be a fun day wiring that. Luckily, I stumbled onto the diagram when searching for a simpler one without the push/pull.
