Adjusting pole piece

The high E string on my Tele is way too low in volume, and I've tried different ways of raising it, however, it's not enough. Next step is to raise the pole piece. How? It's a JD, btw....

you could warm up the pup to loosen the wax and push it up, but you may kill the pup in the process, i dont think id try it.
does the pole piece not line up with the string?

You really can't adjust the polepiece on a Tele pu without a serious risk of blowing the coil...consider using a slightly larger E string (or a lighter B). Check the string spacing over the polepieces, maybe an EQ tweak...

If I tweak the EQ, I can get an OK result volume wise, but then it gets ice picky bright. So, if I can't adjust the pole piece, is there anything else I can do?
