Advice needed on used 5150II

So a buddy of mine is offloading a Peavey 5150II for 350 bucks, which is a GD steal! Only problem is at his last show, he turned it on and the power tubes flashed followed by a little smoke.

I'm thinking a screen grid resistor got burnt up or even worse, the output transformer went with the tubes. He doesnt have any other tubes to try it out and he lives about 3 hours away from me so i cant test it out until friday.

From the sounds of it, is it really just the tubes, or should i be worried about more than just that being wrong with it??

likely a resistor blew up and took out one of the tubes. both easy to fix.

for that price though, you could have it thoroughly checked out by an amp tech, and still be WELL under the market price for a used 5150II.

I say go for it.
