Advice on some Gibson alternatives

Hello Loungers,

I am putting together a strat that is in an HSH format, and I would like some advice. My 2 current favs for humbuckers is a Gibson '57 Classic in the neck, and a Gibson Burstbucker Pro in the bridge. Both of these are 2 conductor. I'm wondering what f-spaced, 4 conductor Duncans might be good alternatives. My goal is to put a single-coil in between two splittable humbuckers because I love the 'quack' positions on a strat. I was planning on an APS II for the middle. Any advice for my humbuckers?

thanks,
Paul

If splitting the neck/bridge isn't an absolute necessity you could use the Gibson combo that you already like. I'm not sure if they make 4 conductor versions of those pickups or not? However you can convert the 2 conductor to 4 conductor. Looking for a direct equivalent from another manufacturer is usually a losing proposition.

In which guitar? The way that these designs sound in a Les Paul, SG or ES Thinline guitar is no predictor of how they will sound in a HSH, screwed-in neck guitar.

It is actually a hardtail strat, but my project is on temporary hold. I have to widdle my guitar collection down to one, and I really have to give it some thought.
