Aged covers

Can aged covers be gotten on models other than the Ants etc ? I would like a 59 aged for a Les Paul and something for the neck

Get nickel covers. There are many ways to age/relic them yourself with vinegar, patina gel, or even your sweat. Just avoid chrome; chrome, by design, does not age.

Honestly, I've never heard them offering that service outside of Antiquities, and if they did, it would be a Custom Shop for sure. I'd just get an Antiquity, though...it does everything a 59 does, but a whole lot better.

you could always buy the pup you want and get an aged cover for it too. i love antiquitys, and a2 buckers in general, but the 59 with the a5 is a different beast

I have already had Ants in this guitar. I didn't like them. Rather wooly... 59's have always worked well in LP's for me. Yes, I could mod things but I did that stuff for years. Not really looking for 1 more task to complete

I wish I knew why the Ants didn't work. On paper they should be exactly what I want. Low wind, bright, fat tele kind of thing. I chalked it up to the aged mags taking some top off but I have no idea what the deal was.

the aged magnet does take some top off, and a2 is rounder than a5 to begin with. ive mag swapped ants with great success.

Interesting. It has happened to me, too, though. On paper, it should work. The specs are great. But it is a dog in the guitar. Frustrating, I know.

Philadelphia Luthier has raw non-plated nickel covers for $6.49. They age quickly naturally!
