Agile

Then have PRS or Carvin make you one (for significantly more) , or live with the extra definition that a .5" longer scale gives by adding more bass and low mids to the amp.... ;)

I personally find anything under 27" mushy for anything under C anyway...

But when you can´t find what you want in a production instrument (which seems to be the case here), well, that´s what luthiers and custom shops are for ;)

I use a 52-12 set with a 80 for the low string though. And yeah, if I had $1500 to blow and the band or job or chops to warrant it, I'd go to Warmoth. Until then, I have my epiphone.

Re: Agile

Got my 2000 today. I really dig it. The tuning was way loose/off when I opened up the package and I was a little scared at first, but once tuned up, it feels great. I'm one of those people that can tell in 5 minutes if the guitar is a keeper, and this one I'm keeping. I've been playing about 16 years, and I've previously had about 3 LP copies that I can remember (a no-namer, an EKO, and a Jay Turser). This one beats them all. I've played Epiphones in stores, and this is as good if not better. Obviously not a real paul, but at least it doesn't have crappy plastic tuners like my friend's real Gibson studio. I'll probably switch out the bridge p/up but that's not big news.

It's not perfect - there's some weird areas where the finish meets the binding (you need to look hard to see it) and the frets needs some steel wool to make them nice and shiny, but with some TLC, my Agile will slay. I'm pleased, and that's not always easy to do with me and guitar stuff.

Re: Agile

Definitely worth the investment. If you do get a lemon, just let Kurt know and he'll ship another - he's one of the greatest guys to deal with.

I've been deeply in love with my 2800 Deluxe flame top since I bought her...oh, maybe a year back. Plays, feels, and sounds just like the nicer Gibbo Standard LPs. Beats most every Epiphone I've ever played (there was one Elite that was pretty nice...I think I was more in love with the finish :P). Even after all this time, I don't regret anything - I'd save up and snag a 2800 or higher model.
