Hey I am curious I found that on my SH-8 Invader on my 6 string I liked the tone alot better without a tone pot and seeing how I never really used the tone pot I wasn't mising anything, Would disconnecting the tone pot on the AHB-1s Blackouts have a similar effect as I found in the Invader?
I have it wired in now but found I do not really like the tone in any other position other then full treble and would actually like a we bit more if possible so I was thinking I could get a bit more if I removed tone pot then I could also use that hole to add a push pull Vol or some other type of setup I may come across.
I have never had a active PU before and I am blown away by how awesome the Blackouts are in Sustain, Tone, actually across the board IMHO they annhilate any PU I have ever had in a guitar or had in any Guitars I have played or took for a test jam lol.
Second question since I mentioned I have never had a Active before I am curious at to what the Battery life is approx? did realize I needed to unplug the cord when not in use as it is the power on off switch basically.
Is it better to use alkaline, Lithium Batterys or could I use some high quality Rechargables, Although I did noticed they are only pushing 8.4Volt and I havent found a Higher Capacity then 150mAh in a Ni-Mh. I would love to get a Li-Ion if they make one but I have found Ni-Mh are much better then the Ni-Cad I used to use.
I Rember reading something about I believe some active being tweaked by running 18 volts to them, I think it was DiMarzio although I cannot find that info at the moment, Are SD's able to do the same? I am just curious as I am very happy with them, I am also curious if the Drop from 9V to 8.4V cause any unwanted problems?
