Alamo amps

[Texas Swamp]

As being a native Texan, I have always heard these amps were used on the first 6 ZZ Top albums but more importantly I have heard they were an inexpensive version to Fender champs and so forth. Anyone have any experience with them?

Alamo amps are rather low buck amps that due to their age have started going up in price recently.

They had several models ranging from a small 3-5 watt jobbie, not unlike a Champ up to 50 watters and maybe even bigger.

I'm sure Billy has several old Alamo amps, mostly because of the Texas connection but Alamo amp shave nothing to do with the classic ZZ Top sound...that is all Fender and Marshall amps.
