The difference between Alder and Swamp Ash is subtle, and sometimes alder is brighter and sometimes ash is brighter. Depends on the weight and density and resonanace of your particular guitar. The DD would sound fine...but there are many others that would also sound fine. In my alder bodied Strat I have a Pearly Gates neck and 59TB bridge pickup. A set of 59's would be cool. As would a 59N and the DD you asked about. Lew
