All those new Fender parts on Ebay

Where do they all come from? Brand new empty bodies, loaded bodies, pickguards, loaded pickguards, necks, necks with tuners, etc. Where do all these major parts come from? Do buyers purchase whole guitars wholesale and split them up to make more money? Does Fender sell these kinds of parts to specific people/dealers?

I've been searching for Strats on Ebay and I come up with more "brand new, unused" bodies and necks than I do whole guitars!

they buy them cheap and part them out and make cash off them. i guess the main guys (2 of them, 1 for MIM one for USA made) have hookups at dealers and buy in bulk. heck they could be dealers themselves and just do this as a side job on ebay under a different name to pull in some extra cash.
