All you tubeheads help me out on this one... PLEASE

I got money and I'm ready to go mod my hot rod deville 2x12.. i have no originial receipt when i bought it from ebay so i know that the 5 year warranty doesnt apply since im changing tubes on it..

anyways.. i want to give the amp a bit more headroom for a smoother sound..the cleans are great already but i want to push it cleaner. im going to use a voodoo lab sparkle overdrive with the od channel(the first one) so losing some overdrive wont be a problem..

basically i want a clean clean amp (a bit of dirty is fine) and for the overdrive i want it to smooth out and possibly thicken a little bit.. if not im going to use a voodoo lap for a boost..

ive decided possibly on svetlana 6L6's and chinese 12 ax7's..

what do you think? throw me recommendations...

Scratch the chinese 12 ax7's.. There are better suited to a high gain amp.
N.O.S. 12AX7's can still be had at a decent price.You can also try a lower
gain tube in the preamp like a 12AU7 or a 5751 (the so called SRV tube)
You may wanna think about N.O.S. power tubes aswell. But be prepaired
to open your wallet.
