Almost time for a new guitar, want some opinions.

I'm thinking its about time to make another purchase. I want a guitar with P90's in it. I'm looking at either a PRS McCarty Soapbar or a custom shop 1960 LP Special single cut. I'm leaning toward the LP big time. I have tried some LP Specials but it was a long time ago (they were not the custom shop version though) and I own a CE22 so I'm familiar with PRS' quality. Any opinions would be appreciated.

go with a gibson les paul. If it was be i'd buy a taylor acoustic instead though.

Yeah, that custom shop LP Special is real sweet. It will be around another month before I can get it. I want a red one!! I might have to put some antiquity P90's in it at a later date.

hmmm....perhaps a mahogany tele w/ p90's would do the trick....gibson type wood, fender feel, P90 tone....

Yeah, I thought about doing a Warmoth guitar, but I don't have a Gibson right now and have been wanting one for quite awhile. A LP Special with those P90's is just calling my name.

LP Special, P-90's one of the greatest combo's there is.

LP Special's are cool guitars, but they aren't versatile. I'd take a McCarty Soapbar over it (like the one Scott_F used to own). You can't argue with PRS' quality and in the long run, I think most people will appreciate the other tones you can get with a McCarty, that you can't get on a single pickup Gibson.

Godin LG P90 - Fender scale, Gibson woods, Duncan pickups.

Gibson GEM - Les Paul studio with P90s and weird colours.

Gibson SG Classic - SG with P90 and neck binding.

A Gibson faded doublecut would probably cover the same territory as a custo mshop les paul special and save you a lot of money. The godin is a great guitar as well but I find that the pickups are overly bright. If you want the longer scale though, godin would be cheeper than warmoth.

What? A Special is a 2 pickup guitar and it is extremly versatile, I've used one for 15 years as my main guitar.
