Alnico 5 in a SH-6N??

Last night, I experimented with my Telecaster's Duncan Custom TB-5. I was never convinced by the tone it gave me (I'm more of a JB and P90 man). I tried the Custom 5 configuration, which was nice... but the Custom 8 ended up being my favorite. Instant Queens of the Stone Age tone!

The neck pickup is a Duncan Distortion SH-6N (or SH-7). I actually like it's clean tone, which is actually rare for a ceramic humbucker, but since I have an Alnico 5 magnet... I dunno, should I pull the trigger? Has anyone done this before?

The neck distortion is actually an underwound custom and it responds well to magnet changes. Can't hurt to try and see if you like it.

I put an A4 in one and have it paired with an Alternative 8 in the bridge. I love it.
