Alnico 8 in Jazz neck ?

I own a Demon with alnico 8 witch is really good , and a Jazz with alnico 5 , and i wonder about the Jazz 8 .
Could you give me a comparison of jazz8 vs jazz5 ?
By the changes it did to the Demon , I think the alnico8 should:
Add shime and harmonics ( a lot of harmonics like never experienced ! )
Soften the treeble string by adding mids ( they should sound thicker )
Boost mid in general , low to medium mids
Make low string tighter by rolling down lows but they would sound beefier with added low mids
Boost ouput
Increase definition and make a stronger , rounder and beefier attack
Will there be a lost of sustain with al8 power if i put it in the Jazz neck ?

Where do you get Alnico 8 here in France? Sorry I can't help you cause I never used Alnico 8.

I got my alnico8 mags from a member called Chill , and couldn't find any in France .
"All star magnetic" sell them .

From what I've read here on the forums, it sounds like an 8 in the neck might cause a bit too much string pull...like you'd have to drop the pup WAAAY down in the cavity (and lose alot of your power, etc.). That's the going theory anyway. Maybe you could try one of those 59/Jazz hybrids to get the same effects on your tone.

Soory Yeti but the 59 coil would just bring more bass , less mids and lost of definition ; i don't want netheir of this .

Hmm you may be right there. I wonder what other combos you might try to get the mix you want without the huge magnetic field of an 8? Maybe a Alnico2Pro/Jazz? Let me see if I can find that thread about neck hybrids for you.
