They came a day earlier than expected so I pulled them out to look at them. They look a little different in that the top and bottom are dark gray and "corroded", sort of like the Burstbucker magnets but not nearly as much.

They also feel significantly harder to pull apart than I remember 5's being. I'm wondering if string-pull is going to be an issue...

Well (assuming they´re standard size) Ceramics would be even harder to separate, so string pull shouldn´t be an issue...

Probably not, and I can always back the pickup away a little, plus I have no plans to use these in neck pickups.

Perhaps you should cause i play a super 70 neck ( around 7.3 kz and alnico mag ) and i am nearly to prefer it to the best neck humb that i know ; the Jazz .
Same crazy definition and fast pick attack but more mids and punch .

Lester, you definitely need to try the Fralin 7.5 in the neck position!

Gotcha. I'm a OCD kind of tinkerer so chances are that will end up getting tried, no matter how much I might protest right now.
