Alnico 9 pickups

I haven't been able to find many articles on the alnico 9 pickups.

I'm trying to find out the following info so i can compare

Tolerances
and what are the performance specifications? I know there is several variations of the alnico 9 alloy.

Can anyone help me out on this?

Zhangbucker makes an A9 humbucker (the plutonium 239). I've never used that model, but Zhang's pickups are awesome in my experience.

I do make an A9 model. If you're familiar with A8, A9 is more powerful still but has more bite and chainsaw grind to it. If it helps, A9 is to A8 tonewise what A5 is to A2 -- except that A9 doesn't have the A5 mid scoop.

I'm looking for some sort of spec sheet Zhangliqun , What is the Tolerance of the A9? what is magnetic performance specs? i know there is several variations . Also what do you use for Surface finish

IME, to get good tone, you need to custom-wind a coil designed specifically for this magnet.

To my ears, the A9 sounds like a mix of the least desired characteristic of Alnico and Ceramic, costing twenty times as much as a Ceramic mag.

I can't see any other application than a Death Metal specific p'up for guitar players that can never get enough gain.

But hey! What do *I* know, huh?

I don't make the magnets, I just buy them. As for tolerance, I don't know what spec you're looking for on that -- Oerstads? Coercivity? Gauss? Composition? Length/width/thickness? Keep in mind that even in the same batch, they won't all be exactly alike.

All the A9's I've seen come with a strange rough, almost corrugated finish.

Thank you , I guess i'm looking for the strength and pull, Like 6.5k/A8... what is the A9 ?/A9 Is the Length/width/thickness standard ?

All I can tell you is it is significantly stronger than A8 and the tone difference described above. The ones I have are the standard 2.5"x0.5"x0.125". What does 6.5k/A8 mean?
