Alnico II Pro + Duncan Custom: Final Answer

Re: Alnico II Pro + Duncan Custom: Final Answer

Wow I don't know if I can answer all of those questions :) I have done a ton of clips over the last couple of years, slacking off a bit lately.
Lots of those were done with my tele, thus the inherent twang. I don't normally use distortion boxes, so you are normally hearing a cranked amp under attenuation on the distorted parts.
The Custom is definitely an edgy pickup in my tele and Les Paul both. The CC can often sound like a hotter Seth Lover, but with less complex mids. The Seth Lover is still my favorite all-round humbucker of those that I've owned. I like the Custom and the DD for harder rock.
Here are a bunch of misc clips. I don't have details, but if you want to listen to some of them, I'll try and remember which pickups and amp I used :D if you want to know.

You really can't go wrong with that combo. I do prefer the CC over the custom though. For bridge pups I've tried the Custom, distortion, c-5, JB, dimebucker, and custom custom, and the CC was my favorite. But like I said, custome/apII will still sound awesome.
