Hi, dudes (again) i have a question, does the SD Alnico II Pro HB sound good for Hard Rock, wut are they most important characteristcs (sorry for english, i live in brasil...) i mean: Harmonics
Sustain
Frequencies

Im going to use them in a Epi LP STD....
Thanks a lot....

Re: Alnico Pros for Hard Rock????

I have them in one of my Les pauls. I like the harmonics alot. It is easy to do them with this pickup. I would say they do sound good for hard rock but, I am a big guns and roses fan and Slash is a big influence on my playing.

Re: Alnico Pros for Hard Rock????

I have one in the neck of my Carvin paired with CC at the bridge and it's very nice. I can play blues, rock, and fusiony style leads with it no problem. Also, the cleans are VERY nice with this pickup.

those clips are great! thanks for that...ive been tossing up a similar thing lately myself....

Re: Alnico Pros for Hard Rock????

I love the APH's - great for hard rock because they have such nice balance and clarity. If you click on my soundclips down in my sig, I used the APH(n) for the cleans and leads on Heavens Door, and you can hear the bridge on my NOS Pre-Amp Tube shootout. That clips is really raw, just my Marshall into a SM 57 straight to the soundcard, but it will give you an idea.

My favorite set of PAF output pups so far, and my favorite neck pickup period.
