Hey all...I've just gotten an older emerald green Ibanez S--470 to jam with while my ESP M-II is awaiting some repair work. Sweet guitar...but, alas, I'm going to do some pickup swaps! It's got the stock AH1/2 setup with a single coil in the middle. I'm setting on a duncan distortion I had planned on putting in the M-II. Of course it has held my Screamin demon and I never got round to it. The guitar itself seems to have a pretty complex midrange. Who has one of these and has a distortion in it...or knows someone who has one. I'm just looking for some input. Once I change the strings, I'll go in and swap! Also, have any of you messed with magnet swaps in a distortion? Whats one sound like with an a5 or an a8? simply curious! Am I correct in assuming a distortion has 44awg? what about the demon? Could I just build a double hybrid and be happy both ways?
