Alright, I finally have to admit it… I’m an addict!
I simply can’t stop buying pedals! And the sad truth is, I don’t even gig or record. And even when I go jam with my friends, the only thing I bring is my acoustic guitar.
I’ve known a while that I had a lot of pedals but I was clearly in denial... For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been re-building my two pedal boards and building a third (And buying a few more pedals for them of course!) and today I finally finish all three pedal boards and walk back to admire my hard work and this is what I see…

That’s way too much!!! And that’s not even counting the 6 other pedal I have that I don’t use but sound too good to sell. And I know in a few weeks or months I’ll find another pedal that I have to have!!! There not all expensive pedals but still, that's more pedal than anybody really needs!
When I started playing, I was a “plug-guitar-in-amp” kind of guy. Then in the mid-nineties, I got into digital multi-effects. Then 2 years ago (ONLY Two Years Ago!) I packed up the multi-effects units and started buying pedals and building my first pedal board. When I was initially satisfied with the pedal board for my main amp (Fender Hot Rod Deluxe) I realized that I had a few leftover pedals and my old trusty Marshall JCM 900 that I hadn’t played with for a while. So I built a second pedal board and bought even more pedals to bring new life to my old Marshall.
And things were fine for a while, but then I realized that while I loved my two multiple pedal setups, I kind of missed the old days of just plugging a guitar directly into an amp. So I got a Fender Excelsior, and only six months after getting it, I’ve got 8 pedals plugged into it!!! I just can’t stop!
So now that I’ve admitted my addiction, what’s the next step? And don’t tell me to get rid of my pedals, because that’s not going to happen!
