Re: Alright I narrowed it down to 2 sets for my semi hollow
Surprisingly, the C5 sounds great in the bridge slot of my Epi Alleykat. It gave the bridge position of that guitar some bottom end without giving up any sparkle.
Hmm. Possible A2P dual (Slash's combo) or Jazz/JB (Megadeth). I own a Jazz/JB combo guitar and I absolutely love it for versatility. But I guess you will just have to hear it / try it yourself.

I tried the JB in my Sheraton. That mid spike that happens in a solid body got very, very prominent. It turned into nothing but mids, which made for a somewhat unbalanced sound in my guitar. I didn't care for it at all in a semi.

Antiquities (alnico 2) do everything I want very nicely in my Heritage 535.
I've never had the Custom 5 in anything other than an alder strat, but I think that the high end would be too bright in the bridge for my taste in a semi-hollow. It would be interesting to hear that strong bass though...

Xero it just really depends on personally preference: if you prefer the lighter sound and more mid heavy sound of A2, or if you prefer the glassy treble and bouncy bass of A5?
I would personally go with the A2. I've been dying to try the combo in a 335 myself.
