Alnico 6/8
i got a call from a singer who wanted some lyrics harmonized and turned into a country song. I wrote and arranged this backing to fit.
He liked it so much he ended up asking the studio for an instrumental copy of the recording so here it is.
Martin Acoustic, 335, some resonator for the lead break, jazz bass, pedal steel (my great friend John Stuart on pedal) and some delicious brush drumming from Jake Cook.
I used John's old princeton with a touch of verb and trem for the 335. I used the same amp with a slower trem speed for the resonator and added a touch of that at the mixing stage to fatten and dirty up the acoustic sound. The martin is single mic mono. The bass is flatwound strings direct into the desk via a sexy tube compressor.
Enjoy!
