Alt8 in drop tune

I'm having problems getting the sound out of an Alt8 in a standard tune guitar so I was thinking of putting it in my drop-c guitar that has a JB in it now. I wasn't getting the low end out of the pup I thought I should be getting which I'm thinking could be the fact it has slinky 9's for strings, not sure. Are Alt8's good for drop tunings? Thanks for all your help.

The JB shoud be in the Standard tuned guitar and the Alt8 will kick your drop-tuned guitar's ass. Pretty much any pickup with an Alnico 8 has bass for days.
