Hi, I have tried this pickup with my Marshall JVM, and liked the result but the mids are a little strange.

What would be a better humbucker, with more definition, tighter bass responce, versatility and with better mids?

The guitar is a Schecter c1, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard

What do you mean by better mids? The Custom series is very responsive to magnet swapping if you wish to try that route.

First, I might try just swapping the magnet of the CC out- if you put a ceramic magnet in there, it becomes a Custom, and the EQ of that pickup is radically changed. It might be what you are looking for, and you'd be out $5.

Yes, please explain what you mean with "better mids". SH11 has a fantastic midrange. it can be a little on the dark side if installed in a non-bright guitar (sometimes happens in les paulish guitars). I am with mincer, anyway. Try a ceramic magnet or a A8.

A rough Alnico 5 or rough unoriented Alnico 5 are less extreme options.

You could randomly select any humbucker on the market and get different mids from what the Custom Custom provides. I have no idea if it will sound better or worse, though.

Yeah I'd try some magnet swaps first, and if those don't work maybe look into a Pegasus.
