Apologies for the sound quality! I'd spent nearly an hour trying to get this nailed, only to find out my damn amp was too loud (to the point where it distorted the camera).

Luckily, a friend from another board was able to put it through a few filters to get it to a listenable level - the orignal audio sounded like an angry fart :laugh2:

Enjoy - let me know what you think :)

Hey man. Im having problems downloading it. I'd like to hear it though, the arpeggio section of Alititudes is a great sweep picking workout. Maybe try uploading it to YouTube or site like that?

I tried to upload the video to youtube.com but the video seems to play at double speed (with the audio at regular speed!)

I've done it twice and both times it's done this - does anyone know what's going on?

Cheers for checking it out Strangesound :D

coooooooooooolll.
i mean your face hehehe J/K
Nice work and the sound is okay too.I want to learn how to sweep.

Re: Altitudes Sweep Arpeggios Video

When learning to sweep-

Take it SLOW. I can't emphasise this enough! I wasted so much time playing quick sweeps sloppily that it took me longer to unlearn the bad technique and relearn how to do it properly.

Start with 2 and 3 string arps, and work your way up.

It'll take a long time. I know it's taken well over a year of sweep picking practice to be able to play this piece even half well.

Re: Altitudes Sweep Arpeggios Video

cool, cool..

how long did it take you to get the economy picking right?

i can hack myself through some sweeps, but can never coordinate right for the economy picking... how would one go around to that?

Re: Altitudes Sweep Arpeggios Video

By playing very very very slowly.

Unfortunately there is no shortcut! I'm sure it's over a year ago when I first started trying to get economy picking/sweep picking sorted out. I think I found it even harder because I already used a hybrid picking style to go from one string to the next. (Pick+middle+ring finger). So crossing strings using my pick wasn't something I did as much as most players who exclusively use a pick do.

Make sure you learn it right the first time around by doing it slowly. Unlearning how to do it wrongly takes even more time!

hmm.. got it.

well.. guess its time to learn some scales apart of the e minor lol

Same exact thing happened to me. Nice sweeps.

Thank you ,i will do my best to learn to sweep.I am not a sweep fan ,but being able to play fast is to know what where is and it makes easy to compose almost everything in mind.Tnak you!!
