Aluminum tail on a Les Paul?

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone has some good experience with swapping tails on LPs and the results? I tend to play heavy modern rock to classic rock, back to blues with my LP and am trying to decide whether or not to keep my stock zinc tail or replace with the aluminum model.

Thanks a bunch!

You're talking about the lightweight tailpiece right ? Lew stocks em and have those on his guitars... but he's out of this world for the moment, should be back in a week or 2.

Excellent results. Less icepick, more sustain, and more vibrations in the body!

Thames,

yes the aluminum light weight tail piece.

dr. barlo,

Thanks man...I would think the aluminum would make it brighter and hence more ice pick? My LP already has a decent amount of highs and may be considered a biter, so I use 300k pots in the bridge.
