Am I gone crazy in thinking about selling this?
Please be frank and don't hold back in your opinions :)

I'm having serious EBMM silhouette special GAS

EDIT: At around post 20 I came to my senses and decided to hang onto it after playing it a little more :)

Don't do it man. This one blows the Silhouette off the pool.

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

If it was an Invader I was gonna slap you.

Since it's not I'll just say you'll have to figure that out yourself.

I've regretted selling my Invader for a long-long time now. I had the actual guitar from the 1996 or 1997 catalog, the orange one.

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

The one guitar that I regret selling the most was my Music Man Axis Sport... I say, sell the G&L.

Play what you like. If it makes you feel good, you'll probably play good. Nice axe tho...

Is that a Legacy Special? Hmmmm...last time I checked my PM still worked...

It sure is Bill,

I'm based in Ireland though so with exchanges rate I don't know if it's worth a deal for either of us, going from the US to Europe does though :)

All I can say is, it doesn't matter how well built or expensive or all around good a guitar might be objectively.
What matters is whether or not it makes you wanna pick her up and start playing and whether that other guitar would make you wanna play her more.

In short, it doesn't make a difference what it is but whether it speaks to you.

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

I was looking at some EB guitars, and though I love the stingray bass, I couldn.t live with the funky 4 x 2 tuners on a guitar.
also the pickguards are just not quite right.

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

I think the big question is : if you weren't considering selling this G&L, would you still be mad ?

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

For a silo special? That g&l would be booted to the curb and I would never look back.

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

It's just a guitar, if it isnt doing it for you anymore I say sell it and get what you want! :)

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

Whats the difference? They are both mid level guitars. If you are going to move up, move up to an Axis or better.

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

What is it that you feel that you're not getting from the G&L that you hope to gain by moving to the Silhouette? Does the G&L have any attributes that you want the Silhouette to retain?

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

I'm usually not much of a strat style guitar fan, but given that G&L strats have a 12" fretboard radius - I Think I could definitely enjoy it even though it still has the 25.5" scale instead of the shorter 24.75" Gibson scale, but I might have to use 9's. The question is "will you truly miss it if you sell it for an acceptable price.?" And I mean acceptable to you.

Re: Am I Mad to be considering selling this G&L?

I think I'll hang onto it for the minute, I've stuck a deposit down on a 2nd hand silo special at a decent price so won't need to sell the G&L, but I've posted it up for sale at probably a high price for it but if someone comes along offering something close then I'll consider :)

Really what I'm liking about the silo over the G&L is the neck profile and narrower nut fits me much better, I like the overall smaller size too, pics coming soon :)
