Am I the only ADA MP-1 owner here??

Anybody else here own an ADA MP-1?? I just got the 3Tube Mod kit installed in my Mp-1 and I gott say, this mod just crushes. Crunchy, thick and defined gain/tone all over. Definitly a big improvment over the stock Mp-1 from tone to even the noise issue that the stock MP-1 suffers from, this is just excellent. Sure you still have the usuall highgain noise you get with highgain preamps and heads, but none of those weird noises people complain about on the stock Mp-1.

Anybody else??

here is a picture of my rack if anybody is interested :D :D

I had one, but didn't really care for it. I didn't have a "proper" setup like you, though!

I don't own one but I have been thinking about getting one of the premodded ones from Voodoo Amps. They seem like really great units.

Edit: Why do you have two? One for backup or for a two amps at once effect?

Two?? Oh.. look carefully dude.. the other unit is the ADA MQ-1. its a programmable Eq that ADA made. Works pretty well with the MP-1.

I had two MP-1's... but my setup was different..

I started out with my Korg DT-1 Pro tuner then, I had a Lee Jackson GP-1000 - Perfect Connection Tube Pre-Amp

<img src="http://tradingpost.sweetwater.com/images/200601301109110.GP1000.gif">

That fed into the ADA MP-1, with a Roland GP-8 w/ ADA Pitchtraq in the loop, feeding into a Rocktron Pro-Q MIDI EQ into several loops that included floor pedals (Mutron Wah/Vol, Dunlop Wah, Deluxe Electric Mistress, Maestro Tape Echoplex, Roland Chorus Echo, MXR Blue Box and finishing out at my Mesa 395 poweramp...

Missed that setup..

I have an unmodded one. I may get another one in the close future though, to make a stereo set-up. Over time, I may be able to afford to get the MKII mod 4, but for now it works just fine. Gets me every tone I need.

Ok, I have six...yes I tend to over-do things a bit but you can't just buy one at every turn of the corner! I used one for eighteen years thru countless gigs and wanted back ups for my back ups! Everytime I found one for $100-$150 I bought it! I have a MOD 4 MKII (done by Hairiston when he could be found) that was my main unit with a stock one as a back-up. Also a 3.666 that he did I don't really care for. One broken one, one "somewhat dependable" one, and another back-up. I recently shelved all that rack gear in favor of Splawn QuickRod. I may sell off all but the MOD 4 and the stock one I bought new in '89. They're great units and can sound like anything you want with a tube change or slight mods. I just decided to simplfy things a bit and went with a head and a few pedals...........Would like the try a 3TM if one ever comes along.
