DO NOT SCOOP THOSE MIDS! Scooped mids sounds like total ****, and we dont want **** in our sound, do we!?
Plenty of mids, not too much bass, thats what bass players are for, and enough treble to round stuff out, but not to be icepicky. Use as little gain as possible while still retaining balls.

ok... my fav setting from the guitar port:
JCM800
drive 6
bass 5
mid 8
trebble 5
presence 6
slight boost with the screamer to fatten up the tone a bit, add some mid boosting EQ and run it through a 4x10 greenback cab =)

Bass 2
Mid 3
Treble 2
Presence 6-7
Volume As loud as possible
I then put a Fulltone (or similar) overdrive in front of it.
Instant old school metal tone!
