Amp Filter Caps

I'm trying to design / spec my own Modded 12xxx series Marshall style amp but I'm a little confused about the Filter caps.

So I really want to try 100u + 100u in series at the mains supply for 50u Total, and 32 + 32u in series at the screens for 16u total... This has been recommended for an extra saggy 'brown' 100w Plexi Non Master volume style .

Is it not possible to wire Dual can caps in series with themselves ?? I was under the impression that the whole point of Dual electrolytic caps (100/100, 50/50, 32/32) was that we had the choice to wire in parallel or series to save space and number of caps.

The other day a friend of mine told me that you can't wire a Dual cap in series simply because the ground terminal is shared between both halfs of the cap ...

Is he correct?
To get the filtering how I want it will I need 4 individual separate Can Caps mounted & wired into the chassis (100, 100, 32, 32) instead of just a dual 100/100 and 32/32 ?

Yes he's correct. Check out available dual/multi section capacitors here - https://www.tubesandmore.com/products/capacitors?filters=Type=Multi-Section / Can Type - They all have a common earth.
