Amp lust...

Help! I want a Marshall Class 5 in the worst way. Talk me into or out of it...

I currently use a Vox AD30VT, but usually only on the UK 70s or UK80s setting. I never really use any of the other settings.

I like the simplicity and the sound that I get with my Boss ME-70 for effects. I usually run it with my DSL50 (because I'm lazy... I have a DD-6 I could put in the loop for delay, but I don't). I heard that the class 5 even sounds good with delay going in the front end...

I've been playing everything from vintage Megadeth, AC/DC to some Jamiroquai type stuff.

I actually had a small EL-84 combo about 12 years ago... anyone remember the Crate VC-508??? I HATED the sound of that thing! Please tell me the Class 5 sounds better than that.

The whole premise behind the Class 5 really intrigues me. A mini plexi that works like a plexi? That sounds too good to be true...

I always say go with tubes if given a choice! Especially if it's really a mini Marshall with a lil plexi in it. If its even in the same universe to a lil plexi that would be something.

Finding a place where you can compare, then choose, is the ideal situation.
You'll know when you try it.

So far, my favorite little amp is the Egnater Tweaker. It's the same price as the Class 5 and does A LOT more. I think when I finally bite the bullet and buy, it'll be the Tweaker head.....meant to be used on a virtually matching Bogner 212 cab.

I tried a Class 5 with the lowest expectations, and liked it so much I bought one. I own plenty of real deal Marshalls, and normally I pass one "the next big thing", but it is a very cool amp.

Bottom line is you should go try one and decide for yourself.

Sorry mate, can't do that. I am getting one in about 20 days myself.

I tested one once, and wanted one 5min into the testing - BIG TIME !!!
Now i found a bloke who is selling one - (((too loud))) for him !

This is also the amp i used to test this here beautifull American DeLuxe Tele on last week in Orlando.

PS : i do not like the stock pick ups.

haha, I'd love to have two of these things and run them in stereo. I think it'd be a killer rig!
