Amp part query: (ON/STANDBY/OFF) 3-way available?

I'm modding a little fender champion 600 at the mo, I love it to bits but in order to add a standby I need to drill another hole for a mini switch which I really dont want to do.

I e-mailed the local amp tech as to wether he has a part I could use or knows of one & he says he thinks these are on bognor amps but he has no idea where to get one from.

Does anyone know of these? or where to get one?

Ask Scott_F, he used one on my Celtic Franklin amp.

I would think that a standard DPDT on-on-on switch would do it. Use one side to switch on filament power, and the other side to flip on "tube" power. You could even have the second side turn on a small relay instead if you wanted to keep the high-voltage away from the switch.

Hehe, it's beyond me mate. The only thing I know is a standard one would be too small as a replacement.

The only places I've seen those switches are Allen Amps and West Labs. IIRC Dave Allen has a $50 minimum order, but he stocks top notch components & trannies. West Labs is just plain expensive stuff.

You have to be careful about space for one of these suckers though - they are BIG inside the chassis. I just put one in a Princeton Reverb repro chassis and centered it vertically on the 1.75" back panel. It fit, but without much room to spare.

IMHO you don' need no steekn' standby switch for that amp. Seriously, it's got a solid state rectifier, reasonably low voltages, and only two tubes. Your opinion matters a whole lot more than mine here though...
