I just got the Shiva on Fri. my pants are still soiled. together with the mesa i blew the zipper right off my jeans.

yeah I'm still honeymooning but yesterday i played through the 3 worth playing though (jcm800, mesa trem-o-verb, bogner shiva) for about 5 hours trying every combo of cabs heads & guitars I've got. ALL of my guitars sounded effing brilliant through the shiva (it's the EL34 version) and just like many reviews of the shiva say.. the damn amp sounds incredibly good no matter where you set the gain & EQ it just sounds "different" with each twiddle of the knobs but it still always sounds great.

I was a bit taken aback by that as I am used to kind of dialing in the sweet spot after an hour or 2 with a new amp and while i narrowed in on a "particularly nice" spot i know i have a lot of listening & playing to do to really learn the subtleties of this amp. It just plain screams yet retains a VERY clear articulate/defined tone throughout the range of its adjustments. totally cool.

So far I am very happy with the purchase. I also tried a Diezel Einstein and while that was also a very nice amp it was a little too metally for me (not that that's bad!) I like to be in control of getting heavy and find i can churn and burn with my hands and don't need insane gain to get there. Even on my Mesa I use the "Blues" setting on the gain channel and get plenty of bone cracking crunch and much better tone than the "modern high gain" fuzzbomb setting.

The AX2 feeds a Peavey Classic 50/50 power amp that drives 8 12s, 4 left, 4 right along with a 1x18.

WOW, I've never seen the guts on one of those guys. It's a trip to see the caps, n resistors soldered right to the metal housing, no eyelet/turret board or nuttin!!!
I bet she sounds just ....... YUMMY!!!

I use these amps with either a 1970s Orange cab with 2 Greenbacks and 2 McKenzie speakers, a Marshall 1936 2x12 with the stock 75w Celestions or an Awad Session 1x12 cab with a Celestion Classic Lead 80 speaker (the 1x12 cab with the Carlsbro is my 'favourite' rig at the minute).

I apologise for the less than great pics,our camera isn't very good and I suck at taking photos! :D

***EDIT*** I've just ordered 1 of the new Matamp Minimat 2/Little Rock single channel 4w amp heads. I'll post pics when it arrives :)
