Amplifying a multi-effects pedal

So here's what I was thinking..........I have a Digitech RP 70 for playing in the living room when the roomates are home (headphones)........I declined against getting a small modeling amp since I already have a 2x12 cab, but at 50 lbs, I don't like lugging it upstairs and down on a whim. However, there are times when I have the living room to myself for a few hours, and would like to hear my guitar w/o headphones on.

Can I take a spare headphone wire, and wire it up to to car or home speakers? I understand that headphone wires are pretty small, so the heard output may not be that great.........what if I was to use heavier gauge wires and a jack from Radio Shack and create my own?

Go out and get a 1/8 TRS to RCA cable. Run that into your home stereo like you would a CD player. You can't drive a speaker with the headphone out.
