An unexpected NGD...

OK, first some backstory.

A few weeks ago, D'Addario had a social media campaign pushing what they called 'World String Change Day'. I think I saw a post saying that if you take a picture and tag it with #worldstringchangeday, you could win 500 of their Players Points (basically equivalent to 4 sets of electric strings in their points/redemption thing they've had for many years).

So it was the day after the gig, and I normally change strings after every outside gig in Florida (4 hours + 100% humidity + 98 degrees = nasty strings). Usually when I change strings, my cats love it, as they bat them while I am putting them on. I quickly snapped 2 pics, one with my black cat and one with my white one. I tagged them and posted to Instagram.

A week later, I was told I won! I had to fill out an affidavit as well as a W9 as the prize package totaled over $600.

What?!

I had to do a little research, and found out it was actually called the "D'Addario & Taylor Guitars World String Change Giveaway". In addition to a prize pack from D'Addario (12 sets of XS strings, 3 pack of regular phosphor bronze 80/20 strings, shirt, string-changing mat for the guitar, peg winder), I won a 50th Anniversary Taylor AD14ce-sb acoustic!

They guitar has a satin finish, Grand Auditorium body, spruce top, walnut back and sides, and ES2 Expression pickup system.

First, here is the winning pic (I can't believe I won a photography contest with a 6 year old iPhone).

Hey, congrats!
That is really amazing, and what a surprise prize package
I never enter anything anymore because I never win anything.

This is one great sounding guitar. It has that typical scooped Taylor sound, which I like. The neck is rather small, which I like even more.
