Analogue synth programming 01 - percussion

TwilightOdyssey

Darkness on the edge of Tone
As my first foray into programming my analogue synth, I went for some percussion sounds. Kick, snare, and noise hi hat are all the DSI MOPHO. Melodic bits are Arturia Modular V.

Needs some tweaking but I am pretty happy with the end result. Enjoy!

Two others that are fun to play with are Absynth, and AAS's Tassman and Ultra Analog.

I like the white noise percussive sound but I do not hear it as a hi-hat cymbal. (Needs some pitch drop.) Keep a copy of the sound as it stands. Develop a second copy to more closely resemble an open hi-hat and/or tambourine.

Together, the white noise blast and the crack of your snare drum sound make a good combination.

The Kick Drum sounds seems like all beater and no pitched/sustained component.

i can certainly see uses for all three sounds. Sample all of them. Make some more. Then, layer the samples with each other. Introduce variety via MIDI velocity and with randomised micro pitch variation.
