Whats the differance between these two when it comes to pedals? is one more imposing on the natrual tone? what are the advantages of either 1 and disadvantages. and finally what is a well known example of each one. I'm trying to figure out what pedal is for me, and this would clear up some things.

Re: analouge, digital?

Most overdrive distortion pedals that you find are analog . . . boss, MXR, some digitech . . . usually if the pedal has modelling (line 6 distortion, Zoom multi-distortion pedals) it's digital and if it's just a distortion box (tube screamer, fulldrive, boss overdrive/distortion pedals) it's analoge. As far as advantages/disadvantages, with digital there are usually tons of options, with analoge it's one sound but some people prefer the sound.

Re: analouge, digital?

Usually distortion pedals aren't digital unless they r emulating pedals (usually trying to sound like many analog pedals or amps) like Line 6, Digitech etc.
