Re: Ancient Tasmanian Myrtle Burl

This is just ok, for those of you not familiar with Mr. Crossley's awesomeness.

The guitar looks amazing.

How did you finish the guitar? What did you use to grain fill the mahogany?

The guitar is sprayed with nitro, grain filling is an oil based grain filler, its an English product, which gets the big grain slightly filled, and then just nitro to fill the rest.

Holy humbuckers, Peter, that's a good one! I beg you, please make a bass... :fingersx:

Are those layers of purpleheart in the neck?

Here's a set of pictures for a Bass I did.. http://crossleyguitars.com/bass.html

The neck is Qld Maple, Tas Myrtle pinstripes, purple heart, Wenge..and the reverse order of course.

What I want to know is, why all the good forum guitar builders are in Australia? Kramersteen, you, Crusty, etc. Is guitar building a method for repelling all the deadly insects or something?

Great work.
