Angled headstock on a custom strat?

Hi I was thinking of getting a 3 per side angled headstock for my strat type custom (alder, maple/rosewood) with a vintage trem.

Do you think that a traditional straight strat type headstock with string trees is a necessity to obtain the best tone, sustain and pitching.

Will an angled headstock do the job just fine?

Thanx

Yes, but, depending on the exact design, it will suffer from Gibsonitis, so don't smash it through your marshall cab or you'll be up for a head reset.

I do my flat top double cutaway design with an angled headstock
you can get strat tones usuign the right pickup and wood combinations - no problem
the angled headstock really just ads tension to the strings creating more sustain - which i don't think would make a strat any worse

feel free to shoot me a PM

I'm working on a Tele neck right now that'll have a slight angle to the headstock instead of being flat. Other than the angle, though, it's a normal Tele head. It'll be made of East Indian rosewood. Have to finish the shaper patterns tomorrow, but if I get it done soon, I'll let you know how it went.

I have 2 reverse Strat head necks with angled headstocks made by USACG and they are great. No string trees, no tuning issues, just great necks with excellent sustein and string tension.

Angled heads give a guitar crisper more piano-like notes as well. Expect more sustain too. The Fender string tree creates several tuning problems ontop of all that. I say ANGLE it!

Good Luck, Bro!
