I've takien what I learned from Evan's Evan-Rude and I'm now finishing up tweaking a blackface reverb amp that I hope appeals to more people than just me! :)

Brenna 40

6 controls on front: (vol, treb, middle, bass, reverb, reverb tweak)

hi/lo inputs
deep switch
bright switch
power and standby switches

on the back, pedal out jacks, adjustable NFB, 2/4/8 ohm selector dual speaker outputs. 110v IEC jack detachable power cord, fuse, footswitch included.

Tubes will be two 12AX7's, 12AT7's, either small bottle 6L6wgb or 5881's, 5U4 or 5AR4 rectifier. There will also be a 6V6, EL34 and big bottle 6L6 options. Fixed bias with adjustment pot and bias test points.

Will be offered primarily as a 1x12 Combo for $1100.

Pictures sometime late next week once the faceplate and combo cab are done. :usa1:

Re: Announcing new amp model....

This sounds like a winner to me Scott!
Great power level, controls sound sane yet the Reverb Tweak is intriguing.
I love me some 112 combos as well.
Yes definately a winner!!!!
I can't wait to see the pics! Everything else you've made looks gorgeous, I don't see why this would be any different!

Re: Announcing new amp model....

Sounds nice, Scott. Good luck! :)

Re: Announcing new amp model....

Cut out the reverb and that definitely sounds like something I'd buy.

PS: forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what does reverb tweak do?

Re: Announcing new amp model....

I gotta finish the tweak thing. When it gets to where I like it, I'll give more details and give it a proper name.

Re: Announcing new amp model....

Excellent news Scott.

Would there possibly be a later option to get higher wattage? Possibly 60-80-100? Obviously you said it would primarily be offered as a 1x12 combo. Have you considered 2x12s or 4x10s?

How about a wattage halving switch?

I don't mean to bombard you, just some general questions I have, as I'm gaining more and more interest.

thanks

4 power tubes w/ half power switch possible. Not at first though. Any speaker config is acceptable. The cab guy just cuts it taller or wider.

Re: Announcing new amp model....

The AB763 circuit was used on several of our favorite blackface fenders of varying power capabilities.

Scott:

For that reverb - how about Dwell, Mix, Sweep controls like those on my Little Jimi? (Old school Fender Reverb stand-alone unit has similar controls).

You should remember how sweet that amp sounds

No trem is no good...I for one love a good tremolo circut

If someone wanted it bad enough, I could build another Evan-Rude. It just involves a lot more labor so it will cost more.

lol ... that's how I feel about reverb. See my nearby thread.

You're dead wrong on that...a BF/SF Fender amp with reverb has more gain that their non reverb brothers...even if you NEVER use the reverb the amp will sound better than a non revrb version.
