Another CBS appearance

I'm playing with Julie Black, along with our piano/organ maven Michael Johnn on the show 'Studio 10'. Despite it being live TV, the studio is small, and everyone is going direct...I am using my Steinberger into a J-Station amp modeler, set to a Twin sound essentially with some compression and reverb. I am only using the neck pickup, an Alnico Pro II..the bridge pickup is a C5, but you don't hear it here.

Check it out.

Classy as always, Dave.

Man, the Steinberger and a J-Station? That's ONE small gig bag! Easiest load in/out EVAH!

How is that Steinberger, anyway? I've always thought I would like one. Any trouble getting strings?

Re: Another CBS appearance

Thanks guys! I really like the Steinberger- and will probably get the newer model, with the TransTrem. As far as getting strings, the store I teach at stocks them, but they cost about $12 a set. Apparently 6 steel ball ends cost a lot of money. However for traveling, teaching or doing any gig really, it is a wonderful instrument.

Re: Another CBS appearance

Isn't there a Steinberger that allows for the usage of normal strings?

Cool video.... I agree w/ Bill, that they had you way too quiet, but cool nonetheless.

Re: Another CBS appearance

Yes, this one can use normal strings...you pull them through the 'nut' and lock with an allen screw...the problem is that it puts a kink in the string, and it is likely to break there. Plus, it slips. I'd only recommend it if you were at a gig and you only had normal strings with you...but I couldn't see performing that way for long.
