schecter...anyday over the Ibenhad...I think the quality is better...plus if memory severs...the pups are Duncans already!

the only Ibenhad I ever bough was $30.00 used and I paid too much money...bet part was it already had a Duncan pup in it!

The Blackjack will cost roughly 550, give or take 50, but most likely that much.
I personally don't think those Schecter's as budget guitars, because I'd put it up against any production Gibson or Fender, but I know alot of the members here wouldn't.

yeah. the blackjack tempest is around $550. just checked guitartrader and the ibenhad is going for $369. that is $180 difference. i have always heard good things about schecters. but what's the goose about ibanez? i believe both are made in korea, and they can't be that far apart in terms of quality can they?

trust me the Schector will be better built...and well worth the extra $180.00...plus it alreadt has killer pickups, it also (if memory serves) has tone pros tune-o-matic(which is a killer thing all by itself), as well as grover tuners...go with the Schector and you won't be sorry. BTW...the $30.00 Ibenhad was a guy I went to school with...e needed money (for drugs) so I helped him out...he wanted $40.00...I told him $25.00, he said if I had $30.00 I could have it!

I don't particularly care for Floyds. But as much as I disagree with everyone on the forum that all "Ibeenhads" are crap, I absolutely LOVE schecter guitars. I am the very proud owner of a 006. My god, it's beautiful.
I think you should just weigh the options. The BJ already comes with duncans, there's 110 bucks added to the Ibanez (believe me... Ibanez pickups SQUEEL and you WILL need to replace them asap). Tone Pros Bridge. Grover Tuners. Factor all that in, the schecter is the better deal IMO.
Every blackjack model I played, I fell in love with. Food for thought.

Personally I always like the Tempest Design .... plus I believe the Blackjacks have a set neck ... SD's and TonePro's

the Korean Ibanez SZ should not be overlooked, the only downside of this guitar is the pickups, the other attributes are superb IMO. if you think the Schecter is it for you, then tread the schecter path. otherwise, try both guitars & then decide accordingly.
