Another Hybrid question

Anyone tried to combine a 59 coil with an Ant, bridge position A5?

I really dig the openess of the Ants but also like the raw power of a 59. Should make an intresting match wouldn't it?

yup. whichever one's characteristics you want to come through more, make it the slug coil(you like the '59 more, use it's slug. the ant, vice versa)

Did it!

Pretty impressive. Enough bite and bass, very single coil open like, I quess somewhat to much hights though. Might change to an A2 magnet and see what happens.

I actually made the Ant the slug coil (zo the 59 is the screw coil, duh....)

I like this hybrid better than the Ant on it's own.

Played the hybrid tonight and man....this combination is just awesome. Tried a lot of pickups and always liked the 59 the best in my Les Pauls but this....wow.

Very transparant, open & warm, controllable feedback and enough bite. The A5 magnet is great, hights were decent.

Favourite pickup I ever had!
