After reading up some more over the weekend, I think that the blend pot will need to be in between the bottom left pin of the DPDT and the first lug on the master volume pot. Do you agree? And also, couldn't I just use a 250k audio taper pot to blend in the middle pickup? (On blend pot: lug 1 is ground, wiper is middle pickup hot, lug 3 goes to master volume lug 1 along with the 3-way switch output)

I sketched this up real quick as a combo of different schematics. Could someone confirm a few things?
1) with the blend pot off, the middle pickup will be completely out of the chain, as if there were only neck/bridge pickups like a standard tele
2) the taper of the blend pot will be smooth (not minuscule until 85% like some people described)
3) the wiring of the 3 way switch

Hey Artie, with the Fender 3-way in the middle position (2.) and the DPDT switch down/parallel mode, wouldn't you get neck and bridge AND middle all in parallel?
I hope I'm not annoying anyone with these. Its just what I do.
We did this to my boy's Bullet Strat using the original pups. Sounds killer in all positions.
This came out better than expected, and its real simple:
Replace the 5-way with a 3-way. Replace the 2nd tone control with a simple DPDT on-on switch and make it master vol/tone. (A push-pull pot would work equally as well.)
Switch "down" gives you parallel mode. Switch "up" gives you series mode, for three virtual humbuckers. The switch-up, middle position is particularly cool. Neck and bridge in parallel, and then those two in series with the middle.
Works good, sounds great.

Hey Artie, with the Fender 3-way in the middle position (2.) and the DPDT switch down/parallel mode, wouldn't you get neck and bridge AND middle all in parallel?

Sorry I am a bit late contributing to this thread but I spend little time on the internet and am not a regular site visitor. Artie Two's concept for an alternative Strat wiring is very clever and he is very much The Main Man as regards wiring ideas and solving wiring problems. It will be interesting to see his modification to recover the single coil settings. I have no great expertise but over the past 9 years or so I have rewired and helped many people rewire their guitars. There is nothing new in this post but I thought there might be something which might interest somebody.
I have rewired many strats and the most popular modification to get series wiring is just the addition of a single DTDP on-on-on switch. This can either replace one of the tone pots or be added as a mini switch . The stock 5 way is retained so the mod is very inexpensive. The wiring is fairly well known but I am attaching a (very) rough diagram anyway. In the middle position the wiring is stock. The forward position connects neck pick to the bridge pick up (it can go to the output lug as an alternative) to give you the additional 2 options of neck and bridge together and all 3 together. In the back position the 5 way gives the following.
1. Bridge
2. Bridge
3. Bridge and middle in series
4. Bridge and middle in series with neck in parallel
5. Neck and bridge in series
So ,except for neck and middle in series, you have all the options in Artie's diagram plus all the stock single coil settings.
For those into the OOPS sound you can make the volume control a push pull putting the bridge OOP. OOP in series is a great sound. I have wired a couple of 3 pick up Nashville Teles like this and the owners were delighted. There is plenty of space between the pots for the mini switch.
If you are into the part Out of Phase sound the position becomes a little trickier as this requires a capacitor in the circuit but you definitely don't want this when pups are OOP in series . I came up with an idea to overcome this which takes the cap out of the circuit when series push pull is engaged (see second diagram).This needs 2 push pulls however so if you want the neck pick up on option you will need a 3rd push pull or a mini switch .
FWIW if you modify the second diagram by removing the middle pick up wire and substituting a 3 way for the 5 way you get an excellent wiring set up for the Tele giving almost all the Baja Tele option. This is by far the most common Tele rewire I do and all are delighted with the results.
As I said hopefully somebody will find this information useful. Apologies again for the terrible sketches which I hope you will understand.

No Doc, because the hot wire from the middle goes to the two unconnected terminals of the 3-way.
Trying to remember back 8-years ago, but probably because this has more to do with a new way to wire a guitar, rather than anything to do with new pickups. It could have gone either way.
And to the rest of this thread, I'm still trying to look over everyone's new ideas. I just don't have the free time that I used to have. (That's a good thing, btw.)

I am sure most of you will know this but if your guitar has a tele neck pickup ( e g Nashville) the case must be separately grounded .Only the circuit negative goes to the DPDT or push pull. Most tele neck pick ups come as 3 wire so this is fairly straightforward. If you have the rare 2 wire you need to unsolder the case connection and add a separate ground wire. This is not that difficult and guidance can be found in several places on the web.
