Anticipation......oops, I did it again...

Been revamping my pedal board. Board one. (Im gonna make 2, one being utilitarian, all the must haves and two being for color pedals..) Thought I had it done except I wanted one more boost pedal to replace my FTL Raptor. But, in the never ending fickle world of us gear junkies....... So, Ive ordered an OCD. Heard NOTHING but good things about those, so here's hoping it trips my trigger. Also ordered a Korg Pitchblack as I figure I should have a tuner on the board. And on Devastone's recommendation and great online reviews, I ordered a Digitech DL 8 delay. Hopefully that will get me the delay tones im looking for. I just hope I have room on the board for the extra 2. They should all be here any day..
Hopefully then, I can get the board finished! Im soo close.

I also ordered a foreign made Rat pedal clone. Also been curious about a Rat and recent threads really got me fired up. This one has a three way switch that can toggle between 3 diff Rat versions, so we will see how it is. Was pretty inexpensive, so Im not expecting much, but online reviews are positive.


If this doesnt do it, next step it pedalaholics anonymous....

The OCD is a fantastic pedal and probably the best overdrive I've ever tried.

I found the OCD to be a little gainy when boosting an already dirty sound. I guess that's not its purpose. YMMV though.

The O.C.D. is an awesome pedal, by far the best transparent O.D. I've ever used but even with the gain turned all the way down its got some breakup. If you're looking for a clean boost that's not going to add gain or change your overall tone a Soul Food might work better for you? Definitely keep the O.C.D. though!

Them, Soul Food's, & Tubescreamers are must have pedals for me! It's strange because they have a lot in common but they have very different applications. At least for me? I run the gain of my OCD @ between 10:00 & 11:00 over a clean signal to get that light tube breakup & a Muffy fuzz (Earthquaker Devices Dream Crusher or Cloven Hoof) behind it for crazy higher gain stuff. I keep my Soul Food set to buffered bypass & mostly use it as a buffer & clean boost but it also stacks very well with my Metal Muff behind it, adds more "Chunk" to the Muff's fuzzy distortion? Then there's Tubescreamers, they're for kicking an already broken up amp in the teeth & turning valve breakup into Distortion! So I pretty much use them the same way everyone else does??? I.M.H.O. these are 3 pedals that every guitarist should own!!!
