Antiquity Hot Rodded set!?

Anyone tried this set or either pickups?
I really wanted to put the normal Antiquity humbucker set into a Epiphone Sheraton II - But they were quite expensive, so I got a set of Seth Lovers instead. The gold hardware has worn off on the guitar.. it's an older made in Korea one. The aged gold covers on the Antiquity HBs would look great!

Re: Antiquity Hot Rodded set!?

The Hot Rodded Antiquity set is a reliced/aged version of the Jazz/JB set. It's in a whole different league from the other two pickup sets you mentioned, so if you are more or less satisfied with your tone now, the HR Antiquities will move you further away from that.

Have you considered either buying aged covers or attempting to do the process yourself?

I haven't installed the Seth's yet - I have just gold covers on them. I did consider 'aging' them myself, but I figure from my experience with gold hardware - it will wear away and get old soon enough. And the price of reliced covers don't appeal to me! So no not really - Any tips on that - aging the covers? I like the good quality covers btw.
I have an SH-11 - I read somewhere it paired good with the Seth neck - the SH-11 might be too much for a Semi-hollow though?
Im more interested in hearing the Antiquity Jazz part of the the Aged HR set! And the standard Antiquity HB set!!

Are Antiquities more expensive than Seths these days? What is the price difference?
BTW, Seths were the right choice for that guitar!

They are, at least over here.

About a 1.2k THB difference... So... around 35-40 bucks apiece.

Yeah, they're not as common (the Antiquities), I've never seen them discounted or second hand ones selling! I live in Australia, I buy local if I can but even the Seths dont come up often on sale. I think RRP online Antiquity set with covers are about $440AUD and Seth set with covers RRP $350 - but then add another $20-$30 import fee (eBay does this) .. it makes buying things like pickups in Australia quite costly.. Before they brought in the 10% small goods tax for international products.. it was much better.. but now we essentially pay 20-30% more
:disappoin

I think I bought 1 of my Seths as new old stock and payed just over $100AUD; then bought a second hand one for about the same price or a bit more and then swapped the chrome cover to a gold one.
I dont think Ive seen an Antiquity under $200AUD - even uncovered - It seems best to buy a set
